In Wymore we celebrated May Day—Calan Mai in Wales—by welcoming local 4th grade students to our Welsh Heritage Centre and the historic District 81 Schoolhouse. The visitors learned about our community’s Welsh immigrant history and enjoyed a Welsh-language lesson. We also played pioneer games. Schoolhouse Update: Interior Restoration Complete
After months of painstaking work, the interior of the historic District 81 Pleasant View Schoolhouse has been fully restored to its early 1900s appearance. We are excited about the renovation. We have a priceless treasure to share that celebrates our pioneer past.
