Great Plains Welsh Heritage Centre also has a Welsh garden to the north of the building. The garden is a reality thanks to the Martha & Margaret Thomas Foundation of Wymore, the Beatrice Gage County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Norris Public Power Goodwill Fund, and by individual memorial gifts from Lois Taylor of Abilene, Texas; Lori and Cathy Williams; the Forrest ‘Bud’ Roberts Family of Wymore and an anonymous donor of Wymore.
An 80′ mural was painted by muralist David Loewenstein of Kansas, a sprinkler system has been put in and a beautiful iron picket fence has been put around the garden area.
The garden features a brick walkway with pavers dedicated to our Welsh ancestors, family members, our churches, or anyone you want to memorialize. Two sizes are available: 4×8 for $100 or 8×8 for $250. Available are up to three lines of print on the smaller brick; up to four lines on the larger brick. There is a MAXIMUM 15 character spaces per line. Would you like to buy a brick or two? To purchase a brick for the garden, please CLICK HERE to download our Brick Order Form. The sale of pavers is ongoing and new pavers will be installed on an annual basis.
